Arsenal set to secure €110m double signing as Edu targets major improvements – Report…

Arsenal is making significant progress towards securing a double deal worth €110m, as Edu, the club’s technical director, sets his sights on substantial upgrades.

Arsenal is set to finalize an impressive double transfer, Tottenham has made initial contact for two new players from Serie A, and Liverpool has allegedly engaged in discussions with a Danish coach in their search for Jurgen Klopp’s replacement.

Arsenal is actively pursuing Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov this summer, with sporting director Edu Gaspar leading the charge, as reported by Italian sources.

According to reports from Italy, Arsenal’s sporting director Edu Gaspar is reportedly in the race to secure the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov this summer.

The Gunners exited the Champions League quarter-finals this season after a close two-legged battle with Bayern Munich. However, they have the opportunity to redeem themselves by clinching the Premier League title for the first time in two decades.

Currently leading Liverpool by three points and Manchester City by four, Arsenal remains in a strong position. Despite this, Manchester City, with two games in hand, are still considered the favorites.

Regardless of the outcome, Arsenal can be proud of their progress this season and are already planning for further improvements next season.

In line with this, recent reports suggest that Arsenal is on the verge of securing a deal to bring in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna as their first signing of the summer.

However, Mikel Arteta and Edu are well aware that improvements are necessary in other areas of the team, particularly in midfield and on the left side of their defense.

Currently, it appears that they have identified two top targets to bolster these positions.

According to il Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal is preparing a significant move to secure the signing of Ukrainian midfielder Sudakov, who is also attracting interest from Napoli.

The report suggests that Napoli has already had a €50m bid for Sudakov rejected and is unable to increase their offer any further due to financial constraints.

While Shakhtar Donetsk has reportedly set an €80m price tag for Sudakov, it is believed that an offer in the range of €60m (£51.4m) will be sufficient to secure his services.

Arsenal’s attacking midfield position seems to be well-stocked with talented players like Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Emile Smith Rowe, and Fabio Vieira.

However, Sudakov’s versatility allows him to play in various positions across the frontline, making him a valuable asset in Arteta’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

In their quest to address the problematic left-back position, Arsenal is prepared to make a strong move for Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy. Arteta is determined to find a solution to this issue during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to L’Equipe, the Gunners boss is reportedly planning to reach out to Los Blancos regarding a potential move to Emirates Stadium this summer.

The 28-year-old player has been with Real Madrid since 2019 after transferring from Lyon. Despite being a consistent presence in the team, it seems that his true value has only been recognized this season, with Carlo Ancelotti praising his contributions.

With his contract set to expire in 2025, Arsenal sees an opportunity to make an offer of up to €50m (£42.8m) to persuade Real Madrid to consider selling him during the upcoming transfer window.

Arsenal has faced challenges in the left-back position this season, with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, and Takehiro Tomiyasu filling in since Jurrien Timber’s unfortunate ACL injury on his debut. However, Arteta and Edu are now targeting Mendy as a potential specialist option for the position in the upcoming season.

Arteta and Edu are said to be targeting a transfer for Mendy, who is viewed as a specialized choice to fill that position in the upcoming season.
