Arsenal proposes a surprising swap deal involving Saliba for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, as reports suggest the club is open to letting Saliba leave this summer.

Despite a season without silverware, Arsenal showed promise in the Champions League, notably defeating Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals before falling to Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.

Manager Mikel Arteta faces pressure to secure a trophy next season, having been supported in recent years.

Arteta emphasized the need for new players due to a short squad and impending departures, stating the importance of being strategic in the upcoming transfer window.

Although Arsenal is reluctant to part with Saliba, reports indicate they have made a proposal to Real Madrid for a player swap.

Arsenal is reportedly open to allowing Saliba to depart if they can secure Rodrygo, but Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, remains unconvinced.

The report indicates that Perez is firm in his stance against such a trade, citing Rodrygo’s higher market value and the fact that Saliba’s contract will expire in two years, which could lead to a decrease in his value if he does not renew next summer.

Real Madrid has complete confidence in Rodrygo’s potential, believing he possesses the qualities to become the world’s best player.

Given the abundance of talent at Real Madrid, Rodrygo might consider pursuing a different opportunity to shine, with the club valuing him between €80 and €100 million.

Real Madrid would prefer for him to transfer to another team, provided he is not entirely satisfied or comfortable at the club.
