Arsenal have initiated discussions with a forward earning £242k per week, as a move to London is appealing to him, according to a journalist.

This summer, Arsenal has numerous priorities as new sporting director Andrea Berta aims to support Mikel Arteta with fresh signings, with one of their main objectives being to recruit several attacking players.

Arsenal is focusing on acquiring a new winger and striker this summer.

The transfer window is now officially open for transactions until June 10, followed by a brief pause before reopening on June 16 and continuing until September 1.

This current mini-window was established to enable teams participating in the Club World Cup to register new players prior to the tournament’s commencement, but it is applicable to all Premier League teams, including Arsenal.

Arsenal is anticipated to finalize a transfer for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, with a medical appointment arranged for the Spanish international (BBC), suggesting that they could officially secure his signing before June 10, given the progress of that deal.

Following Zubimendi, there has been considerable discussion regarding the Gunners’ chase for a leading striker, with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko both at the top of Arsenal’s striker target list.

Fans are particularly eager for Berta to secure a prolific goalscorer, which has long been considered the missing element in Arteta’s strategy, especially after a season where they faced challenges in scoring compared to their usual performance.

Nevertheless, acquiring a number nine is not the only priority moving forward.

Bukayo Saka’s injury absence in the middle of the 2024/2025 season highlighted Arsenal’s requirement for an alternative on the right flank, while there are uncertainties regarding the long-term future of Leandro Trossard, who is about to enter the last year of his contract.

Interestingly, Berta may consider one of Arteta’s former players from Man City – £242,000-per-week Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane.

Arsenal is widely believed to have a genuine interest in Sane, as his contract with Bayern is set to expire in just a few weeks.

The German player has also recently enlisted the help of super-agent Pini Zahavi to facilitate new contract negotiations or to find him a new club if necessary.

Arsenal has initiated discussions with Leroy Sane’s representatives regarding a potential transfer.

According to Bayern Munich insider Christian Falk, it is reported that Arsenal has “started talks” with Zahavi about signing Sane.

The 29-year-old, who scored 13 goals and provided six assists for Vincent Kompany last season, played a more significant role towards the end of the 2024/2025 season and is intrigued by the idea of moving to London.

His family lives in the English capital, making a permanent move there attractive to him.

Falk also mentioned that Tottenham is expected to compete with Arsenal for Sane’s signature.

Sane’s extensive experience at the top level, combined with the fact that he could be signed without a transfer fee, makes him a highly appealing target for Arsenal.

However, Sane is seeking a base salary of £192,000 per week, in addition to £2.5 million in bonuses and a signing-on fee (according to Sky and Sport Bild).

These were his latest rumored demands to remain in Bavaria, so he is likely to request similar figures to join Arsenal.
