Arsenal is finalizing an agreement to acquire winger Christos Tzolis in a record-breaking deal, serving as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, according to reports.

Under the management of Mikel Arteta last season, Arsenal clinched the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final.

However, the Gunners are not resting on their achievements and are eager to enhance their squad for the 2026/27 season.

Manager Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are seeking an upgrade for the left wing position.

Currently, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are the two options available for Arsenal on the left flank.

Nonetheless, Trossard is set to depart, as Arsenal has agreed to sell the Belgian international to Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas.

Arsenal is moving quickly to secure Tzolis as Trossard’s replacement, with The Sun reporting that the club is finalizing a deal for the Club Brugge winger.

Tzolis has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time and is regarded as one of the top wingers in the Belgian Pro League.

The 24-year-old Greek international netted 22 goals and provided 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions for Club Brugge last season.

The Sun’s headline reads: ‘Arsenal ready to finalize record £35million transfer for Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis as Trossard replacement.’

The report indicates that Arsenal is ‘now close to completing an agreement with Brugge to bring former Norwich player Tzolis, 24, back to the Premier League for a fee around £35m.’

It further states: ‘Everything seems to be in place, but the Premier League champions need to give the final approval for the winger to travel to London and sign the contract.

‘It is expected that Mikel Arteta’s team will soon give the green light to include the Greek international in this season’s squad.

If the transaction is finalized, the winger will set a record as the most expensive Greek player ever, as per the report.

TEAMtalk has also indicated that Arsenal is ‘optimistic’ about acquiring Tzolis during the summer transfer window.

The report from this reputable news source mentions that Club Brugge is ‘preparing for the possibility that Tzolis will leave before the transfer window closes.’

Additionally, it stated: ‘As previously disclosed, the Belgian champions are open to a sale if their asking price is met, with the club seeking what would be a record transfer fee for the Belgian Pro League.
