Arsenal 1 — 0 Porto – Into the extra aggregate 1 — 1
Arsenal aims to overturn their 1-0 defeat against Porto in the Champions League tonight.
After their loss in Porto last month, the Gunners have a challenging task ahead at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta is determined to secure a spot in the quarter-finals, a feat Arsenal hasn’t achieved in this competition for 14 years.
Arsenal must reverse their fortunes against Porto this evening in order to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
After securing a late victory over Brentford, the Gunners climbed to the top of the Premier League standings and are now shifting their focus to overcoming Porto.
Despite a disappointing 1-0 defeat in Portugal last month, Mikel Arteta’s team remains in good form offensively and will be confident in their ability to make a comeback on home turf.
David Raya is expected to make a comeback in goal for the Gunners, as he was unable to play against his parent club due to the terms of his loan move.
Aaron Ramsdale, who stood in for Raya, didn’t have the best performance, although he did manage to make some good saves. There is concern regarding Gabriel Martinelli, as he was seen leaving the Emirates wearing a protective boot.
Takehiro Tomiyasu is believed to be the only other Arsenal player with an injury concern at the moment.
As for the visitors, Mehdi Taremi is believed to be fit and ready to play after missing the first leg. Wendell has also recovered from a thigh injury he suffered in that game.
Arsenal is in a strong position with their current momentum, making them the favorites against Porto.
Prediction: Arsenal to win 3-1.
