Manchester City travelled to Anfield, where Liverpool were waiting for them. However, this time, the visitors’ bus took an unusual route to the stadium.

This was all due to the tense situation surrounding the Citizens following the independent commission’s decision to find the club guilty of 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules. City deny all the allegations.

Calls to greet the opposing team’s bus with boos were circulating on social media, while some fans even prepared banners to mock the financial scandal.

However, to avoid any potential trouble, the team decided against taking its usual route and reached the stadium via a service entrance. Although fans were waiting for the players there as well, there were significantly fewer of them.
