Liverpool receives a significant transfer advantage as the actual costs of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye transfers come to light.

PSG has finally issued a statement regarding Barcola’s future following a troubling update on Ibrahim Mbaye.

Liverpool has been granted a substantial transfer advantage in their chase for Bradley Barcola after PSG’s chairman addressed the circulating rumors.

Even though they are entering their first season under a new manager with a distinctly different style of play, Liverpool has remained relatively inactive in the current summer transfer window.

With just over a week remaining until their Premier League opener against Newcastle United, the Reds have completed only two signings this summer.

The unexpected acquisition of Spanish winger Victor Munoz, who joined after his €40 million (£34.6 million) release clause at Osasuna was activated in June, along with a loan agreement for Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo, are Liverpool’s only transactions despite the departures of Andrew Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, and Mohamed Salah as free agents.

However, it has been widely reported that Liverpool is keen to make a significant impact before the transfer window closes by securing a high-profile signing in Paris Saint-Germain forward Barcola.

The French international is said to be dissatisfied with his current situation at PSG, having fallen down the hierarchy in what is generally regarded as the most formidable attack in Europe, and is therefore eager to make the switch to Anfield.

After Barcola once again failed to feature during the Champions League winners’ victory over Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup, PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi made a revealing statement regarding the Liverpool transfer speculation.

“We’re working calmly, we don’t talk too much, we do. I can’t say whether he will leave or not,” he told French broadcaster Canal Plus.

“Today, he is a PSG player. We’ll see!”

Liverpool is anticipated to make an official offer for Barcola in the next few days, following the PSG star’s indication that he will not renew his contract with the French club, which is set to expire in two years.

Liverpool has learned PSG’s asking price for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye in a potential double transfer. While the exact amount remains unclear, Liverpool’s interest in Barcola is expected to exceed £100m, with reports indicating that PSG may demand as much as £145m for the winger.

This steep price has prompted Liverpool to explore other winger options, including Mbaye, Barcola’s teammate at PSG, who is also rumored to be leaving the Parc des Princes.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool is even contemplating the acquisition of both players and has recently engaged with George Mendes, Mbaye’s new representative. However, they currently view PSG’s asking price as prohibitively high.

Romano states that PSG estimates the combined cost for Liverpool to sign both Barcola and Mbaye could approach €200m (£171m), a figure that Andoni Iraola’s team considers ‘crazy.’

Nevertheless, Romano emphasizes that Liverpool still aims to secure two wingers before the transfer window closes on September 1, particularly if Cody Gakpo departs for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
