Fabrizio Romano provides insights on the future of Darwin Nunez at Liverpool, stating, “Trust me.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, he has valuable information about Darwin Nunez’s prospects at Liverpool that he believes is trustworthy.

In recent weeks, both Real Madrid winger Rodrygo and Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez have been the subject of transfer speculation, despite the transfer window closing a month ago.

However, Romano has dismissed the likelihood of any moves for either player.

Rodrygo faces increased competition for playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu due to the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, who have both made a strong impression under Carlo Ancelotti.

While Rodrygo continues to secure a starting position, Real Madrid may consider transferring him.

Although Liverpool has been mentioned as a potential destination, Romano believes such a deal is unlikely.

Additionally, Nunez’s rumored transfer to Atletico Madrid has been ruled out following the signing of Julian Alvarez from Manchester City.

Romano: Nunez and Rodrygo Transfers ‘Completely Quiet’.

Despite the speculation, no developments have occurred.

Earlier in the summer, there were reports linking Rodrygo to Liverpool, but any potential deal was far from realization.

The Reds have only invested £12 million in winger Federico Chiesa and an additional £29 million in Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, with the latter transfer set to finalize next summer.

Fichajes had also suggested a possible swap between Nunez and Rodrygo, but Romano has expressed uncertainty about the origins of these rumors.

He emphasized that Nunez remains fully committed to Liverpool, especially after Alvarez’s recent move to Atletico. In his Daily Briefing, the Italian journalist remarked:

“It’s challenging for me to comment on the Rodrygo and Darwin Núñez rumors, honestly…

I have no idea where these links are coming from. Núñez to Atlético Madrid, Rodrygo to Liverpool… trust me, everything is completely quiet now.”

There are currently no discussions or negotiations regarding these players. Núñez is entirely dedicated to Liverpool, while Atlético recently invested €75 million plus add-ons for Julián Alvarez just two months ago.

Núñez’s Limited Opportunities May Lead to Slot’s Departure.

The Uruguayan has fallen out of favor as the primary striker.

Núñez began his tenure at Liverpool with an impressive tally of 15 goals and four assists during his inaugural season, including four goals in the Champions League and nine in the Premier League, despite a number of missed opportunities that suggested room for improvement.

His performance improved last season, where he recorded 18 goals and 13 assists across all competitions, with 11 of those in the Premier League, marking his first time reaching double figures in the league.

However, an eight-match goal drought led to a decrease in his usage, and now Arne Slot has seldom relied on him as a starter, favoring Diogo Jota instead.

Given that the team has achieved seven victories in eight matches under the Dutch manager, with Núñez starting only twice in all competitions, it may be challenging for him to reclaim his position.

Nevertheless, with Romano indicating that a potential move to Atlético is not as advanced as initially believed, he could still play a significant role in the ongoing season.
