Newcastle United has reached an agreement for the transfer of a highly-rated goalkeeper, with the terms of the deal finalized.

The club is currently in discussions regarding Brighton’s goalkeeper, Carl Rushworth.

Newcastle is negotiating for Brighton’s goalkeeper and is also continuing talks for Manchester City and England’s goalkeeper, James Trafford.

The club is in discussions about acquiring Brighton’s Carl Rushworth while also pursuing Manchester City’s James Trafford.

Newcastle aims to secure one of these two goalkeepers to serve as their new first-choice.

Rushworth spent last season on loan at Coventry City and Newcastle has already had two offers exceeding £20 million turned down for the 25-year-old, who is eager to maintain regular first-team action.

Newcastle has long been interested in Trafford, having made two previous attempts to sign the England international. According to Daily Mail Sport, he has re-emerged as their primary target.

However, Trafford, who serves as a backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma at Manchester City, comes with a higher price tag of around £30 million, complicating his potential acquisition.

Newcastle has already secured 20-year-old French talent Ewen Jaouen for £20 million and currently has 34-year-old Nick Pope as their starting goalkeeper, although Pope may depart once they finalize their latest target.

The club is keen to finalize new signings after a disappointing transfer window, having missed out on Victor Munoz to Liverpool and Johan Manzambi to Aston Villa.

They have received £85 million from Tottenham for Sandro Tonali and are currently fending off Arsenal’s interest in Bruno Guimaraes.
