‘World-class’ star is now poised to reject Tottenham in favor of joining Arsenal.

This summer, Tottenham has been exceptionally active in the transfer market as they prepare for a significant year under the leadership of Roberto De Zerbi.

The hiring of the Italian manager was pivotal in helping the north London club secure their Premier League status on the last day of the previous season, as relegation to the Championship loomed large.

De Zerbi and Tottenham are now aiming to ascend the Premier League standings and contend for European competition once more, following two consecutive finishes in 17th place.

So far, Spurs have invested £237m this summer, acquiring Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali, while also bringing in Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson, and Marcos Senesi on free transfers.

However, further action is required in the transfer market to bolster the team’s attacking options after their difficulties in scoring last season.

Interest in Rogers

According to HandOfArsenal on X, Tottenham has expressed interest in signing Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

Last season, Spurs enhanced their attacking options with the high-profile signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, after unsuccessful attempts to secure Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham witnessed flashes of Simons’ potential throughout the season, with the player, currently sidelined due to an ACL injury, notably scoring in a vital home match against Brighton & Hove Albion late in the season and netting twice in the 3-2 Champions League round of 16 victory over Atletico Madrid.

De Zerbi will also have James Maddison available for the upcoming season, having only regained his services in the final weeks of the last campaign due to an ACL injury sustained a year ago during pre-season.

The possible acquisition of Rogers would significantly enhance Tottenham’s attacking capabilities, as the ‘world-class’ England international is adept at playing both on the left wing and in an attacking midfield role.

Rogers’ focus on Arsenal

Arsenal may potentially deal a significant blow to Tottenham’s hopes regarding Rogers.

The champions of the Premier League are eager to acquire the former Middlesbrough player as they seek to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, aiming for additional trophies.

As per HandOfArsenal on X, sources within Arsenal assert that Rogers is their primary target for the winger/central attacker position.

Despite interest from Tottenham, it is said that Rogers is inclined towards a transfer to Arsenal, provided a deal can be finalized.

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Aston Villa has set a £130m price tag on their standout player.
