Liverpool is reportedly willing to agree to a £50 million fee to facilitate the transfer of a £75 million star away from Anfield.

Liverpool is poised to agree on a £50 million payment to secure the transfer of a £75 million talent away from Anfield.

As the new season approaches, Liverpool stands out as the only Premier League club yet to make a new signing during this transfer window.

The Red Devils have been keen on acquiring a new holding midfielder and had pinpointed Martin Zubimendi as a prime candidate.

However, the Spanish player has opted to remain with his boyhood club, Real Sociedad, turning down the opportunity to join Liverpool.

Currently, Liverpool is concentrating on offloading some players this summer, having recently transferred Fabio Carvalho to Brentford.

According to Football Insider, the Merseyside club is prepared to facilitate additional departures before the transfer window closes and is now considering selling Luis Diaz.

Arne Slot’s team initially set a £75 million valuation for the Colombian player, but they are now willing to entertain offers in the vicinity of £50 million.

According to FI, both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have expressed interest in him. As reported by today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has identified Diaz as a potential alternative to Nico Williams.

However, the Catalan publication suggests that Barcelona may face financial challenges in securing the South American, as his signing would likely exceed the cost of Williams, who has a release clause of £49 million (€58 million).

Liverpool is reportedly considering Anthony Gordon as a possible replacement for Diaz if they decide to sell him.

Gordon, known for his explosive playing style, could prove to be a valuable addition for Liverpool if they manage to sign him.

Nevertheless, Slot’s team would need to invest significantly, as Newcastle United is seeking around £75 million for the player.

What are your thoughts on whether Liverpool should sell Diaz, who scored twice against Sevilla last weekend, this summer?
