Steven Gerrard identifies his preferred replacement for Mo Salah
With the confirmation of Mohamed Salah’s departure from Liverpool this summer by all involved parties, it is likely that the Reds have already begun their search for a suitable replacement ahead of the next season.
Numerous candidates have been mentioned in the media, including RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, who is expected to attract interest from many top clubs.
Nevertheless, Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard has a different player in mind as the perfect addition for the Reds — although acquiring him may prove challenging.
During TNT Sports’ coverage of the Champions League match between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Gerrard expressed his admiration for Michael Olise.
When asked if he would like to see the France international at Anfield, Gerrard responded, “Absolutely, but the issue is, why would he leave Bayern Munich?
“They are a major club, competing for significant titles, and arguably the strongest Bayern Munich team we have seen in quite some time.
“He is poised to make a significant impact at the World Cup this summer. He appears to be a very content young man, well settled.
“I don’t believe he will be moving, but yes, I would love to have him at Liverpool.”
Liverpool is believed to consider Olise as an exceptionally talented player, yet also one that is nearly impossible to acquire, particularly with some individuals at Bayern still upset after losing the competition to sign Florian Wirtz.
