Liverpool is ready to make a move for a forward who has shown prolific form with 43 goals.

Liverpool is set to pursue a prolific forward who has netted 43 goals, according to reports.

The club is actively seeking a new striker and has identified one of the most sought-after talents in Europe.

Manager Arne Slot is eager to begin the process of revamping the team this summer, although he has yet to secure his first signing.

While the team is currently in the United States for their pre-season tour, the recruitment team at Anfield is diligently working to pinpoint potential signings for the upcoming season, ensuring that Jurgen Klopp’s successor can start effectively.

It appears they have concluded that acquiring a high-scoring forward is the optimal strategy to enhance their squad, although this player is expected to come at a significant cost.

Football Insider reports that the Reds are now in the running to acquire the services of Sporting CP’s striker, who is also a target for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Gyokeres had an outstanding debut season in Portuguese football, netting 43 goals in 49 matches following his departure from Coventry City. His impressive performance played a crucial role in Sporting’s triumph in the Premeira Liga, leading to heightened interest from major European clubs.

Although the 26-year-old has an £86 million release clause, no club has yet been willing to meet this hefty price tag. While Arsenal has shown the most interest in Gyokeres, Liverpool could also provide an enticing opportunity under their new manager.

Despite his unsuccessful stint at Brighton and Hove Albion, where he did not make a single Premier League appearance after joining in January 2018, Gyokeres is eager to make a fresh start at Anfield.

The Swedish forward made a permanent move to Coventry after a successful loan period, subsequently netting 40 goals in 97 matches over the following two seasons.

It remains uncertain how much Liverpool is willing to offer for Gyokeres, as his potential signing could raise questions about Darwin Nunez’s future with the club.

Transfermarkt estimates the value of the Swedish striker at £55 million, with four years remaining on his contract.

According to FourFourTwo, Liverpool appears to be focusing their attention on other targets this summer, given that their attacking lineup is already among the strongest in the Premier League.

However, if a player of Gyokeres’ caliber becomes available, it would be prudent to pursue him as soon as possible.
