7 clubs that Mo Salah might consider joining in January after Liverpool indicated the star may leave

Mohamed Salah’s position at Liverpool is being questioned following his absence from Arne Slot’s last two starting lineups amid the Reds’ difficulties in the Premier League.

According to Jamie Redknapp, Mohamed Salah’s time at Liverpool could come to an abrupt end as early as January.

The Egyptian star is unlikely to be satisfied sitting on the bench at Anfield if a suitable club presents itself, according to the former Reds midfielder.

This season has not been smooth sailing for Salah, and despite having signed a new contract last season, he has only 18 months remaining on his agreement.

However, after being benched for the last two Premier League matches, a swift departure could potentially happen.

“He’s a Premier League legend, a Liverpool icon, and that’s why I don’t foresee this ending positively,” he remarked on Sky Sports.

“It’s going to be a challenging situation now because when you have someone of his caliber, who is so vital to the team, their presence in the dressing room and their behavior in training becomes crucial.

“I would be surprised if he completes the final two years of his contract, or year and a half. I don’t believe this situation is beneficial at all.

In football, nothing surprises me – whether it happens in January or perhaps in the summer.

“If the right club comes calling… much will depend on this individual. He has earned that privilege. And if he states: ‘Look, if I’m not going to be a starter for you, I’m not one of those players who will linger. I will go wherever necessary.’ I still believe he desires to play in Europe.

“The first assumption we might make is that he’ll head to Saudi Arabia – he’s undoubtedly a legend in that region – or he might prefer to move to the US, but for me, this is now a significant turning point in the relationship.

“He’ll feel betrayed and, as you mentioned, perhaps even held responsible for the current situation. However, while the team is succeeding without him… I noticed those statistics, and they are quite impressive when he’s not on the field.

Who might provide Salah with the ideal opportunity? Before delving into the financial aspects of a potential transfer, it’s important to note that the forward will be participating in AFCON during December and January.

Despite Redknapp’s assertions, a move in January would be unexpected; however, there may be more possibilities in the summer. Mirror Football examines several options.

According to ESPN, Al Hilal continues to have Salah ‘firmly on the radar’, and Al Qadsiah has also expressed interest in a possible transfer. Although Salah and Liverpool have previously rejected offers from the Middle East, it remains a region with the financial capability to finalize a deal.

Salah would certainly shine in the league and could receive substantial rewards as well. While the Saudi Pro League is still largely viewed as a destination for players looking to conclude their careers, Cristiano Ronaldo can only serve as the league’s face for a limited time.
