Dyche reveals jaw-dropping number of Forest absentees before facing Liverpool…
Dyche discloses astonishing number of absentees for Forest ahead of Liverpool clash
There has always been an expectation that this weekend could evoke different feelings for both teams, and the latest news from the opposing camp has emphasized that sentiment as we prepare for our journey to Nottinghamshire.
According to a report from Liverpoolfc.com, Forest’s manager Sean Dyche came to his press conference with what was referred to as an actual written list of players unavailable, while also confirming just one possible return for the encounter with us.
The ex-Burnley and Everton manager indicated that Callum Hudson-Odoi, who netted the decisive goal in this matchup last season, “has made good progress” and is “certainly being considered for the squad.”
Dyche further stated: “He is around it… at least we can contemplate him rejoining the group, so that will be a positive.”
This information comes amidst broader uncertainty for Forest, who are grappling with numerous injuries throughout the team.
Liverpool gears up for Forest while keeping our own injury updates in mind.
While our opponent’s challenges are significant, we also face recent issues after Arne Slot confirmed that both Conor Bradley and Florian Wirtz “can’t play” against Forest, a scenario described as “far from ideal.”
This prompted our head coach to acknowledge that “perhaps one or two players will need to fill roles they typically wouldn’t,” suggesting potential for further lineup changes.
These muscle concerns coincide with the demanding fixture schedule, as both players have been heavily utilized for club and country over the last month.
Forest’s injury woes accumulate as Liverpool aims to regain momentum.
Dyche confirmed that no additional injured players are anticipated to return.
Chris Wood is scheduled for a re-scan, Douglas Luiz is “a matter of time,” Angus Gunn remains sidelined, and Ola Aina, Dilane Bakwa, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and young goalkeeper Aaron Bott were all noted as “making progress but not yet with us.”
The extensive nature of that list will influence how Forest approaches the match, although we must not disregard our own difficulties.
An uplifting update was received when our head coach stated that Alisson “trained last week and this week”, giving us hope that our exceptional goalkeeper might be prepared if he successfully completes the final training session.
This comes after a difficult stretch where we managed only three victories in eight games without him.
As both teams face selection difficulties heading into the weekend, the outcome of this match could depend on which manager successfully navigates the current challenges.
