The injury setbacks for the Liverpool forward continue with this latest issue.

It has been a challenging few weeks for Liverpool on the field, and now the situation is worsening off the field as well.

During Liverpool’s title-winning campaign last year, the team received praise for their remarkable injury record, thanks to the addition of Ruben Peeters to the coaching staff.

However, this season has already seen several players dealing with injuries. Initially, both right-backs, Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong, have been facing muscle problems.

Alexis Mac Allister has been struggling with fitness since around March, and Alisson Becker sustained a hamstring injury during the loss to Galatasaray, leaving him unavailable until after the November international break.

Additionally, Giovanni Leoni faced unfortunate circumstances, suffering a severe ACL injury during his debut for the club in the Carabao Cup match against Southampton.

Now, there is another significant injury concern…

Liverpool forward prepares for surgery.

The last 18 months have been quite challenging for Jayden Danns, as he has been hindered by ongoing injuries.

His loan at Sunderland last season concluded without him playing a single match due to a back problem.

The young player made his return to the field from the bench in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Southampton, but has now encountered another setback.

Lewis Bower, in conversation with Ben Pescod on Anfield Index’s ‘The Academy’ podcast, shared insights about the injury:

“I’ve heard from someone connected to the club that it’s a rather serious injury. I believe the hamstring has detached from the bone.”

“I was informed right away that it occurred while taking a free-kick, and that was a credible account of the situation. It appears he will be out for an extended period and will need surgery.”

It’s a tragic and extremely unfortunate injury for Danns, yet his attitude is commendable for consistently recovering from such challenges.

Regrettably, he is expected to be out for an extended period, typically a minimum of four months, and it may not be until pre-season that we see him rejoin the Liverpool first-team.

A loan transfer in January was possibly being considered, but this injury will prevent him from pursuing that opportunity this season.

The Liverpool Under-21 manager recently stated that Danns could be England’s next number nine. It’s difficult to dispute this given his current form and potential.

Since making his debut in the first-team under Jurgen Klopp and being part of the renowned ‘Klopp’s Kids’ Carabao Cup champions, the striker’s progress has been quite inconsistent.

At just 19 years of age, there is ample time for Danns to develop the career that his talent warrants, but these injuries are increasingly becoming a significant concern.
