Zidane has set one requirement to accept the Liverpool position.

Zinedine Zidane has made his sentiments regarding Liverpool clear amidst increasing speculation about a potential move to Anfield.

In September, after a 2–1 victory in the Carabao Cup against Southampton, everything appeared to be progressing well for Arne Slot and Liverpool. The Reds had kicked off the 2025/26 season with seven consecutive wins in all competitions.

As Liverpool continues to face challenges, betting odds have significantly shifted in favor of Zidane possibly taking over. Betfair indicates that Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is currently the frontrunner at 3/1, followed by Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola at 4/1. Zidane is in third place with odds of 9/2, while Germany’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann is at 7/1, and a remarkable return for Jurgen Klopp is priced at 9/1.

Zidane has shown admiration for Liverpool in the past. The French icon once referred to Anfield as one of the finest stadiums to play in, stating in an interview with Real Madrid’s YouTube channel: “Liverpool. I also remember .”

In 2021, prior to a Champions League match against Liverpool, Zidane labeled the Reds a “complete team,” remarking: “They’re a complete team. While people often discuss their front three, which is indeed impressive, I believe their true strength lies in their cohesiveness as a unit. We must remain vigilant.”

Nevertheless, Zidane has acknowledged that language could pose a barrier if he were to relocate to England.

In a conversation with L’Équipe in 2022, he mentioned: “I understand English, but I don’t have full command of it. I know some coaches join clubs without speaking the language, but I approach things differently.
