We’ll see him soon’ – journalist drops update Liverpool fans have waited months to hear…
Liverpool fans have been eagerly awaiting an update, and it seems they will soon hear good news about a familiar face returning to the pitch.
A key academy talent is on the verge of making his comeback after a prolonged absence due to injuries.
Bajcetic is getting closer to match fitness following a challenging injury period.
According to Lewis Bower on X, there is optimism that “we will see Stefan Bajcetic with Liverpool U21s soon.”
The 21-year-old midfielder has faced a tough couple of years since making his debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2022, even starting against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Injuries have disrupted his promising career, with an adductor injury cutting his debut season short, followed by hamstring surgery in May that kept him from participating in this summer’s pre-season tour.
Lewis Steele recently reported that the Spaniard is “getting closer to match fitness” and has been taking part in training sessions at Kirkby.
Slot’s choice to retain him in Merseyside this season, despite interest from various European clubs, highlights the confidence our head coach has in the young player’s potential.
The significance of Slot’s trust for Liverpool cannot be understated.
This season, competition for midfield positions is fierce, especially with the addition of Florian Wirtz and the ongoing development of Ryan Gravenberch.
However, Bajcetic’s technical skills and calmness on the ball still provide a distinctive option in our midfield.
If he plays for Rob Page’s U21s in the upcoming weeks, it would be a significant step towards a return to the senior team – potentially offering much-needed depth as the Reds aim to regain their form following the 3–2 loss at Brentford.
With Calvin Ramsay’s impressive performances in the academy likely to earn him some first-team action this week, Bajcetic will be supporting from the sidelines, eagerly awaiting his opportunity.
It has been a challenging journey for the young Spaniard, but after months of diligent work behind the scenes, Liverpool fans may soon be celebrating a long-awaited return at Anfield.
