Arsene Wenger, the iconic figure of Arsenal, has recently praised the exceptional talent of Robert Pires and compared his right foot to that of Thierry Henry.

Wenger, who guided Arsenal to numerous successes during his tenure, played a pivotal role in nurturing and enhancing the abilities of his players, transforming them into superstars.

Among these remarkable individuals was Pires, whose arrival at Arsenal from Marseille in July 2000 for a mere £5 million proved to be a bargain for the club. Wenger’s admiration for Pires’ right foot further emphasizes the immense potential that existed within the Arsenal academy, prompting him to advise current manager, Mikel Arteta, to provide more opportunities for these budding stars.

The ex-Arsenal manager advises Mike Arteta to foster the development of burgeoning talents from the Arsenal academy by affording them opportunities to shine.

Pires had an impressive career at Arsenal, playing 284 games and contributing to 146 goals. His contributions were instrumental in helping Arsene Wenger’s team secure two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, and two Community Shields.

In a recent interview with Goal, Wenger was asked to name a player with the best right foot that he had managed. Initially, he mentioned that there were numerous players to choose from.

However, when the interviewer suggested Thierry Henry, Wenger quickly highlighted Pires as another exceptional player. He emphasized that Pires should not be forgotten, showcasing his talent and skill on the field.

Robert Pires was a standout player for Arsenal during his peak years. When reflecting on the successful Arsenal teams managed by Arsene Wenger, names like Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, and Patrick Vieira often come to mind.

However, Robert Pires deserves to be mentioned in the same breath.

During the iconic Invincibles season, the Frenchman impressively scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists across all competitions. This remarkable output from a left winger truly set him apart.

Pires’ ability to score with his right foot was truly exceptional. His precision and control were unmatched, and it’s no wonder that Wenger holds him in such high regard alongside Henry in terms of shooting prowess with his dominant foot.
