The “top player” is focused on Liverpool, despite interest from Manchester United and Spurs regarding a transfer.

Reports suggest that Liverpool is still in the lead for the transfer of Marc Guehi, a central defender from Crystal Palace, as he approaches the conclusion of his contract.

The England international has excelled during his tenure at Selhurst Park, but he is set to become a free agent at the end of this season.

This situation could open the door for competition for Guehi’s signature, with Graeme Bailey previously informing TBR Football that clubs like Manchester United could challenge Liverpool for the transfer, as the circumstances have changed since the Reds missed out on him last summer.

Additionally, it has been reported that Tottenham may currently be in the lead for Guehi.

However, as Indy Kaila reports, Guehi remains committed to the idea of joining Liverpool…

Marc Guehi transfer: What’s next for the “top player”?

Guehi appears to be a perfect fit for Liverpool at this moment, especially with Ibrahima Konate nearing the end of his contract and Virgil van Dijk aging.

The 25-year-old could also be a great addition for Manchester United, as they utilize a three-at-the-back formation and could benefit from alternatives to players like Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt, particularly since Lisandro Martinez has struggled with injuries during his time at Old Trafford.

Former United player Louis Saha was recently quoted by the Manchester Evening News, praising Guehi and encouraging his former club to pursue him before Liverpool does.

“Marc Guehi is undoubtedly a top player and a leader. I admire him as a player,” Saha stated.

“It’s straightforward: if Manchester United can outbid Liverpool for the deal, even if it means paying £20 million more than his market value, they should do it.

“I believe he’s an exceptional player. I truly appreciate his consistency and the security he brings to the team.

“I also value his communication skills; he’s a very dependable player. He will certainly be part of a major team and compete for significant honors in the future.
