Sources: Arsenal is considering two attacking signings as their position on Viktor Gyokeres becomes clear.

Arsenal is targeting both Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid and Rafael Leao from AC Milan as long-term attacking options, and they are not actively pursuing a new striker at this time.

As initially reported in my exclusive for the Daily Briefing, Arsenal maintains significant confidence in Viktor Gyokeres after making a substantial investment to acquire him from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

Consequently, the Gunners are not in search of a new center-forward to replace Gyokeres, but they are considering other attackers who could support the Sweden international.

Sources indicate that the players at the top of Arsenal’s list are Rodrygo and Leao, both of whom have been on the radar of the north London club for some time.

Arsenal is comfortable with Viktor Gyokeres but is eyeing Rodrygo Goes and Rafael Leao.

Recently, Arsenal has made adjustments to their attacking lineup, with Gyokeres being one of several new additions to Mikel Arteta’s front three over the summer.

Noni Madueke has also joined the squad, playing on both the left and right wings, while Eberechi Eze has occasionally been utilized in a front three when he is not filling in for Martin Odegaard in a more central position.

However, Leandro Trossard is aging, and Gabriel Martinelli has shown some inconsistency, while both Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have faced numerous injury issues.

This situation could create an opportunity for a player like Rodrygo or Leao to come in and provide a different dynamic to enhance the overall strength of the front three.

Gyokeres would also benefit from this, as the chemistry between the 27-year-old and the current attackers has yet to fully develop.

Could Rodrygo or Leao bolster Arsenal’s squad?

Rodrygo has not been performing at his peak lately, which may lead some Arsenal supporters to see him as a risky acquisition.

Leao has consistently excelled for Milan, making him a likely favorite, and the statistics below suggest he may possess the most comprehensive skill set to fulfill that role…

Leao has excelled this season in non-penalty goals, expected goals, key passes, and assists, while Rodrygo is notable for his dribbling and ball carries.

It will be intriguing to observe whether either player becomes a primary target in the near future, or if Arteta can devise an internal strategy to maximize Gyokeres’ performance as a centre-forward.
