Mikel Arteta holds the belief that a certain 22-year-old player from Arsenal should significantly increase his goal-scoring tally, despite recently scoring his second goal of the season in the league.

The Gunners displayed an impressive performance and secured a remarkable victory against West Ham at the London Stadium. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as both Manchester City and Liverpool emerged victorious on Saturday.

Additionally, the stadium holds significance as it witnessed a pivotal moment in the Premier League title race last year.

The Gunners dominated West Ham at the London Stadium during the weekend, delivering an impressive performance and securing a significant victory.

This achievement becomes even more noteworthy considering that both Manchester City and Liverpool also emerged victorious on Saturday. Additionally, this stadium holds a special significance as it witnessed a pivotal moment in last year’s Premier League title race.

The opening goal against the Hammers was scored by William Saliba, the Frenchman who expertly headed the ball into the net from close range. Arsenal proved to be a constant threat to West Ham through their set-pieces, causing numerous difficulties for the home side.

Unfortunately for West Ham, it was Declan Rice who unintentionally assisted Saliba by providing him with a perfect opportunity to score.

Saliba’s goal against West Ham marked his second goal of the season and his fifth goal in 65 games for the Gunners. However, it appears that his manager, Mikel Arteta, believes that he has the potential to contribute even more goals to the team.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Arteta holds the belief that Saliba’s height should enable him to score more goals for Arsenal.

This perspective is understandable considering Arsenal’s current prowess in set-piece situations. In fact, they have been the most prolific team in the Premier League this season when it comes to scoring goals from dead-ball situations.

With four goals to his name this season, Gabriel Magalhaes, Arsenal’s centre-back partner, has matched Gabriel Jesus’ tally in the top-flight, despite playing fewer games.

The team’s proficiency in scoring from corners and free-kicks suggests that Saliba’s goal count is likely to increase in the upcoming weeks. Arsenal’s opponents face the challenge of neutralizing the threat posed by Arteta’s men during set-pieces, a task easier said than done.
