Report : Liverpool reveals asking price for Barcelona target as rumors suggest departure…
The potential selling price for Liverpool has been revealed amidst rumors of Barcelona’s interest in their player. Speculation suggests that it could be the right time for the player to consider a move away from the club.
Liverpool have reportedly set their asking price for Darwin Nunez as FC Barcelona shows interest in the player.
The English club initially paid approximately £64m to secure Nunez’s services from Benfica before the start of the 2023/24 season.
Nunez has proven to be an exciting player for Liverpool in the last two seasons. However, his performances can be unpredictable due to his Uruguayan background.
Despite his occasional wastefulness, the 24-year-old has managed to score 33 goals and provide 17 assists in his 94 appearances for Liverpool across various competitions.
Nunez, a 24-year-old player, is still developing his skills and often squanders his chances, yet he has managed to score 33 goals and provide 17 assists in 94 games for the Reds in various competitions.
Nunez has seen a decrease in playing time lately, only making brief substitute appearances against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.
Could Barcelona be Nunez’s next destination? Recent actions, such as deleting Liverpool-related content from his Instagram and his agent Jorge Mendes reportedly offering him to Barcelona, suggest a potential move. Furthermore, it has been disclosed that he agreed to join the La Liga club back in 2020.
Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore has suggested that it might be the right moment for Nunez to part ways with Liverpool.
“I have been a highly sought-after signing for Liverpool… for a transfer fee that broke both club and national records,” Collymore shared with Caught Offside. “The pressure is unrelenting, the media scrutiny is constant, every game is meticulously analyzed, and the fans, who are accustomed to winning, are always critical when things aren’t going well. Therefore, I can empathize with what Darwin Nunez is currently experiencing.
“The one question I would pose to him directly, a question that I have already pondered myself, is, ‘Do you believe that you possess the ability to score enough goals and create sufficient opportunities for your teammates?’
“If he is honest with himself, he will know whether he should persist with Liverpool and their new manager, despite the doubts surrounding his capabilities.
“Is he a Fowler, Rush, Torres, Mo, or Suarez? No, certainly not. However, only he can determine whether he has what it takes to succeed.
“As for me, I had to completely adapt my style of play to complement Robbie Fowler, who I knew would outscore me. Consequently, I focused on creating numerous opportunities for him while maintaining a respectable goal-scoring rate myself.”
Spanish publication Fichajes reports that Liverpool has established a specific price for Nunez, indicating that he is dissatisfied and his departure may be imminent.
Liverpool has set a valuation of approximately €85 million for Darwin Núñez, as rumors circulate about a potential transfer to Barcelona.
The club from Anfield will only entertain the idea of selling the Uruguayan forward if their asking price is met, as he has attracted attention from the La Liga powerhouse.
