Report: Liverpool in talks for major double signing, including ‘exceptional’ winger…
Liverpool in discussions for significant double transfer, involving exceptional attacking midfielder.
Liverpool has engaged in discussions with the representatives of two promising Dutch players in order to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
Liverpool, under the management of Arne Slot, has been relatively quiet in the transfer market this summer, as the former Feyenoord manager is focused on evaluating his team during pre-season before making any decisions on new signings.
It has been reported that Liverpool is unlikely to make any midfield additions, as they are keen on assessing the performance of Stefan Bajcetic following his injury.
The club is looking to enhance their defensive and attacking options for the upcoming season, and they are currently considering two potential targets.
Liverpool is showing interest in two Dutch players, including Leeds star. According to sources, discussions have been held between Liverpool and the representatives of Dutch duo Lutsharel Geertruida and Crysencio Summerville.
Geertruida, a 23-year-old defender from Feyenoord, played a crucial role under Slot’s management at Feyenoord. Despite this, sources reveal that Liverpool had already been monitoring the defender prior to Slot’s appointment.
With Slot now in charge, Liverpool is reportedly keen on securing a deal for Geertruida to strengthen their defensive options for the upcoming season.
Talks have already begun with Geertruida’s representatives. Additionally, Summerville, a winger from Leeds United, who shares the same agency as Geertruida, has also emerged as a potential target for Liverpool and other clubs this sum mer.
Discussions have occurred with Geertruida’s team – however, he is not the only Dutch player who has been discussed, as he shares the same agency as Leeds United winger Summerville, who is being sought after by several clubs this summer.
French powerhouse leading the way for Dutch pair
Despite engaging in discussions with the Reds, there is interest from all over Europe for the Dutch duo.
Similar discussions are believed to have occurred with French giants Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Liverpool’s Premier League competitors Arsenal, Newcastle United, and West Ham United in recent weeks.
The French giants, who are seeking to replace Kylian Mbappe, are the most advanced in securing this double deal this summer.
Summerville is set to leave Elland Road this summer and has attracted interest from Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace.
Following a 3-2 win over Norwich City in October, Leeds manager Daniel Farke praised the Dutchman, highlighting his creativity and hard work for the team.
Farke emphasized the importance of such qualities and commended the player for his efforts.
Leeds fell short of an immediate return to the Premier League after losing in the play-off final to Southampton.
The club has already transferred teenage midfielder Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur, with Ange Postecoglou playing a significant role in convincing the player to make the move away from Elland Road.
