Report: Exciting news for Newcastle as the club is set to finalize a €45m sale

Newcastle is currently in search of right-backs, and the time for decision-making is approaching. Eddie Howe may face the possibility of losing all three of his first-choice right-backs this summer, necessitating replacements.

Newcastle targets Denzel Dumfries as a potential substitute for Kieran Trippier – Report

Eddie Howe might lose all three of his starting right-backs this summer as Newcastle United prepares for significant changes.

A considerable number of transfers are anticipated at Newcastle this summer, with Kieran Trippier’s departure already confirmed.

Tino Livramento’s future at Newcastle remains uncertain, as Manchester City shows strong interest in the England full-back, while Emil Krafth is also set to be out of contract at the season’s end.

This situation presents a major challenge for Newcastle at right-back, with all three first-team players in that role potentially departing. Newcastle must recruit at least two players to fill the right-back position this summer, and possibly three if Tino Livramento also leaves.

Denzel Dumfries may be available this summer

An article from the Italian publication L’Interista has reported that Newcastle United is among several Premier League clubs eyeing Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries.

Despite facing injury challenges this season, the Dutch player’s talent is unquestionable, as shown by the interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa, all monitoring his situation as summer approaches.

The 29-year-old has not yet secured his future with Inter, leading other clubs to be ready to act in the summer if they sense an opportunity for his transfer.

We want to believe – we just don’t

Dumfries has earned 71 caps for the Netherlands and has scored 11 goals for his national team. The formidable full-back is an impressive athlete, and while he differs significantly from Trippier and Livramento, we would be thrilled to see him donning the black and white jersey.

We have some reservations regarding his age; however, Trippier has demonstrated this season that age is merely a number. The 35-year-old has managed to play two matches each week while maintaining a high standard, suggesting that we could still benefit from a few productive years with Dumfries.

The competition is intense, particularly with Liverpool and Manchester United in the mix. Therefore, we are uncertain about our ability to persuade him to join us in Tyneside.

Rumour rating: 5/10 – The source is not one we would place much trust in. His age also places him in a questionable category, and even if the rumors are accurate, the competition is significant. We have increased the rating by a point or two because we would be thrilled if it were true.
