Arsenal is interested in bringing in a £38m attacker who exhibits a ‘dangerous’ style of play akin to Bukayo Saka.
Arsenal is actively pursuing the signing of a highly skilled attacker, valued at £38 million, who possesses similar playing style to Bukayo Saka.
This potential addition to the team would provide healthy competition for Saka on the right wing.
Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, Arsenal is determined to strengthen various areas of their squad in order to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
Having narrowly missed out on the title for two consecutive seasons, Arsenal recognizes the need for superior players who can make an immediate impact.
While the focus is often on securing starting players, Arsenal also acknowledges the importance of having top-quality options on the bench.
In this aspect, they currently fall short in comparison to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. Therefore, Arsenal is actively seeking to address this gap in their squad depth.
According to a recent report, Arsenal’s interest in a particular player remains strong, despite competition from Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
The player in question is Johan Bakayoko, who has been the subject of transfer rumors for some time now.
At just 21 years old, Bakayoko is considered one of the most promising young talents in the Eredivisie.
His significant contribution to PSV Eindhoven’s league title win last season has further fueled speculation of a move to a bigger club.
While Liverpool has been heavily linked with Bakayoko, with many seeing him as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah, Arsenal’s interest appears to be the most concrete.
Nevertheless, it is not Arne Slot’s team that has the strongest interest in Bakayoko, but rather Arsenal.
According to GVA, Arsenal is keen on securing Bakayoko’s signature ahead of Bayern Munich and Liverpool for the upcoming summer transfer window.
Bakayoko faced the Gunners twice during the 2023/24 season in the Champions League group stage, which must have impressed Arteta.
The report suggests that Bakayoko possesses the qualities that align with Arsenal’s playing style, although any potential transfer is expected to take place after Euro 2024.
PSV, on the other hand, are demanding a hefty £38 million fee for their star forward to depart during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Bakayoko’s style of play closely resembles that of an Arsenal player.
While Arsenal boasts a talented group of attackers, it is undeniable that Bukayo Saka stands out as their premier player in the frontline.
During the highly productive 2023/24 season, the Englishman impressively netted 20 goals and provided 14 assists.
This outstanding performance solidifies his position among the world’s top right-wingers.
Regrettably for the Gunners, they lack a suitable replacement for Saka within their squad.
This is where Bakayoko enters the picture, as he has been likened to PSV’s equivalent of Arsenal’s number seven.
In a recent interview before Arsenal’s upcoming Champions League match against PSV, Adrian Clarke highlighted the significance of Johan Bakayoko, a young talent who plays as a right winger.
Clarke emphasized Bakayoko’s speed and compared him to Saka, stating that he is their equivalent in terms of playing style. As a left-footed player, Bakayoko poses a threat from the right side of the field.
It is evident that Bakayoko’s potential is undeniable, especially considering his age of 21. This suggests that he will continue to improve and flourish in the years to come.
Bakayoko’s presence in Arsenal’s squad not only provides valuable depth but also serves as motivation for Saka to elevate his performance to new heights.
