A £50 million Premier League striker is on the verge of finalizing his transfer on Monday following a decision by Liverpool.

Ivan Toney is reportedly nearing the completion of his departure from Brentford as Al-Ahli intensifies efforts to secure his signing after he was omitted from the squad for the match against Liverpool.

Once again, Thomas Frank has opted to exclude his leading striker from Brentford’s matchday roster as they prepare for a challenging encounter at Anfield.

Toney, who was sidelined for the first half of last season due to a suspension, has frequently been linked with a transfer away from the club, with several prominent European teams expressing interest.

However, as the transfer window approaches its conclusion, it appears that Toney is set to join a Saudi Arabian club rather than a European side, with negotiations between the involved parties advancing.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the vice-chairman of the SPL is currently in London to finalize the deal, with Monday established as the deadline for completion.

The report indicates that Brentford has already turned down a £35 million offer and is seeking a fee around £50 million.

Both SPL vice-chairman Saad Al-Lazeez and sporting director Michael Emenalo are in London to expedite the Ivan Toney transfer within the next 24 hours.

Toney has reached an agreement on personal terms, and discussions are at an advanced stage, with further updates anticipated ahead of Monday’s deadline.

Toney was not part of the Brentford lineup that faced Crystal Palace last weekend, but Frank’s team managed to secure a 2-1 victory, thanks to goals from Bryan Mbuemo and Yoane Wissa.

The two forwards are set to lead the attack on Sunday evening against Liverpool, with fans hoping for a repeat of their impressive performance.
