Sources indicate that a £80,000-a-week star from Liverpool is poised to depart Anfield following a decision made by Slot.

Kostas Tsimikas, a defender for Liverpool, may be on the verge of a transfer this summer, as the left-back has garnered interest from clubs in both the Premier League and Spain, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

The Greek international appears to be receptive to a new challenge after primarily serving as a backup at Anfield in recent seasons.

Since his arrival at Liverpool from Olympiacos in 2020, Tsimikas has frequently been the second choice behind Andrew Robertson, contributing solidly when called upon, especially during domestic cup competitions and when the Scotsman has been injured.

However, with a new era commencing under head coach Arne Slot, Tsimikas’ position may remain unchanged.

Tsimikas Could Depart Liverpool

Interest from both England and Spain

Currently, Tsimikas earns approximately £80,000-a-week after extending his contract with Liverpool in late 2023, but the lack of regular playing time might lead him to explore his options.

Although Liverpool is not actively pushing him out, the interest from clubs both abroad and in England has brought his situation into sharper focus.

Reportedly, clubs in La Liga have made initial inquiries, while Premier League teams are also monitoring the 29-year-old.

Tsimikas is believed to be open to the next phase of his career and would consider leaving Liverpool if the right opportunity arises, particularly one that guarantees consistent first-team action.

As Slot gears up for his second season in charge at Liverpool, decisions regarding squad depth and player roles will become increasingly crucial.

Should Tsimikas leave, Liverpool may need to look to the transfer market or their own ranks to ensure sufficient cover for Robertson throughout a lengthy season.

They have already invested £40m in acquiring Hungary star Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth during this transfer window.

At this moment, no transfer is imminent, but Tsimikas’ future remains one of several narratives to closely follow as Liverpool’s summer unfolds.
