Talented striker has decided on an Arsenal transfer, firmly believing in the potential of the club’s project.

Arsenal is reportedly optimistic about securing the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, who has shown a clear preference for the Gunners over other Premier League clubs, as highlighted by Ben Jacobs on GIVEMESPORT’s recent Market Madness podcast.

With the current injury crisis affecting the team’s attacking options, it appears certain that Arsenal will seek to bolster their forward line during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This situation has become more pressing following Kai Havertz’s recent hamstring injury sustained during a training camp in Dubai.

The decision not to acquire a new forward in January has proven detrimental, and the North London club is now focused on enhancing their squad to support Mikel Arteta’s ambitions for the title and domestic cup competitions.

Sesko, who has been excelling at Leipzig, is expected to be a top target.

Jacobs: Arsenal’s Positive Outlook on Sesko

Sesko is frequently mentioned as a prime candidate to provide Arsenal with a reliable goal scorer. The 21-year-old has been impressive in the Bundesliga, netting nine goals in 20 appearances this season.

Standing at 6ft5in, he combines physical presence with agility, drawing comparisons to Manchester City’s prolific striker Erling Haaland.

While Alexander Isak is also on Arsenal’s radar, the Swedish forward may remain at Newcastle United, where he has played a key role in their Carabao Cup final run.

Jacobs indicated that securing Sesko could be a more straightforward transaction for the Premier League club.

I can envision a scenario where Alexander Isak becomes a highly sought-after player, yet remains with Newcastle.

In this case, Arsenal would turn their attention to Benjamin Sesko. He is intrigued by the project but initially preferred to spend another season at Leipzig.

However, when faced with options from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, Sesko ultimately chose Arsenal, only to later decide to remain at Leipzig.

Consequently, Arsenal feels optimistic about their chances with Sesko.

Last summer, Sesko was strongly linked to Arsenal but reportedly declined a move to the Emirates, as he did not want to serve as a backup to Kai Havertz.

Should the club pursue the 39-cap Slovenia international again, they may need to invest approximately £70 million.

This season, Sesko has netted 15 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions at the Red Bull Arena.

He plays as a traditional number nine, making him an ideal target for creators like Martin Odegaard, thanks to his height. Rok Zorko, who coached him in his youth, praised him as ‘supernaturally fast’ with an ‘exceptional jump.’

Regarding his injury history, he has not missed any matches due to injury at Leipzig and only sat out 13 games during his time at RB Salzburg in Austria.
