Mohamed Salah Identifies Ideal Teammate Following Liverpool Exit Announcement

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has generated significant reactions from fans after disclosing the one player he dreams of playing alongside after his confirmed exit discussions.

In a recent interview, Salah expressed his admiration without hesitation:

“He’s someone I truly admire — his style of play is remarkable. A fantastic player, indeed.”

While many anticipated he would mention a well-known Premier League star or a Liverpool colleague, the next revelation surprised the entire fanbase.

Instead, Salah referred to a legendary figure, one of the most decorated players in history — a choice that caught many off guard.

This unexpected announcement has already ignited discussions among supporters, with numerous fans pondering how such a collaboration would manifest on the field.

One thing is clear: if this transfer materializes, it could become one of the most thrilling partnerships in global football.

Mohamed Salah is set to leave Liverpool after an illustrious nine seasons with the club.

Salah, who ranks as the third-highest goalscorer in Liverpool’s history, has confirmed he will say goodbye to Anfield at the conclusion of the season, during which he secured two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Club World Cup.

His exit follows less than a year after he signed a two-year contract extension that ensured his stay at the club beyond a sensational 2024/25 season, where he matched the Premier League record for goal involvements in a single season as Liverpool led the table.

However, after a significant decline in performance this season – scoring only five league goals in 22 appearances – the 33-year-old Egyptian will look for new opportunities in the summer. Here’s where he might land:

The clear choice for Salah would be to finally fulfill his long-anticipated “dream move” to Saudi Arabia. While any of the state-owned clubs, such as Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, and Al-Ahli, could theoretically make an offer for the Egyptian star, we believe Al-Ittihad is the most likely candidate due to their historical interest in him. They submitted a late £150m bid for the winger at the conclusion of the 2023 summer transfer window, which was turned down by the Reds. Now seems like the ideal moment to rekindle their interest, especially with the player expected to be available as a free agent.

MLS

Alternatively, Salah might opt for the more conventional path for veteran players by moving to MLS. According to The Independent, this is currently viewed as the most appealing option. Inter Miami appears to be a very plausible destination, given their track record of attracting global stars, with Salah potentially joining Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in finishing their careers on American soil. However, David Beckham’s club is not the only team with significant allure. Antoine Griezmann recently transferred to Orlando City, marking their largest signing since Kaka a decade ago, following the moves of Heung-min Son and Thomas Muller to LAFC and the Vancouver Whitecaps, respectively, last summer. After leading Egypt in this year’s World Cup on U.S. soil, could Salah be the next superstar heading to the States?

Paris Saint-Germain

Salah is not necessarily destined to join a so-called “retirement league,” as his ambition to continue playing at the highest level of football was a significant factor in his decision not to transfer to Saudi Arabia in previous years. If this remains true, PSG would have the financial resources to meet his undoubtedly substantial wage expectations and could emerge as a potential contender.

Real Madrid

LaLiga giants Real Madrid have been frequently associated with a potential transfer for Salah, particularly during his peak years. However, there were vague reports as recently as this January suggesting that Salah had “offered” himself to the club following an injury to Kylian Mbappe.

There is likely no real basis to this particular rumor – yet, perhaps, if he were available on a free transfer, Real might find it worthwhile to consider a move in the upcoming months.

Inter Milan

On the other hand, Salah might contemplate a return to familiar territory, having reestablished his reputation in Italy’s top division with Fiorentina and Roma after his unsuccessful stint at Chelsea.

Currently, Inter Milan reign supreme in Serie A, but Napoli has demonstrated their ability to accommodate seasoned Premier League stars, with Kevin De Bruyne thriving at the club this season.

Galatasaray

Positioned between the European elite and the so-called “retirement league”, Salah could choose a lucrative transfer to Turkey, which would still enable him to compete in the Champions League.

Despite a rather disappointing season for the Egyptian, Salah delivered one of his standout performances to eliminate Galatasaray from that competition – could this have persuaded them to pursue him?
