Mikel Arteta on brink of completing first Arsenal summer transfer with ‘deal done’…

Mikel Arteta is on the verge of finalizing his another summer transfer for Arsenal, with reports indicating that a deal has been reached.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is a long-term admirer of Viktor Gyokeres and the 26-year-old forward is a prominent target as the Gunners look to bolster their attacking options.
Arsenal developing strong interest in Viktor Gyokeres as possible striker signing. Andrea Berta firm admirer of 26yo SportingCP forward – expected to figure prominently among Arsenal options, more realistic than Isak.
Arsenal has been consistently linked with Spain international Martin Zubimendi, and it is now reported that an agreement has been made for the midfielder to join the club this summer.
Zubimendi, who has a £51 million release clause in his contract with Real Sociedad, has attracted Arsenal’s interest for some time. Previously, it was noted that the Gunners were in advanced negotiations to secure his signature after he turned down a transfer to Liverpool last summer. Arsenal is anticipated to part ways with Thomas Partey and Jorginho as their contracts come to an end.
According to a recent report from Marca Radio, as cited by Sport Witness, Zubimendi is “on his way to Arsenal.”
Although there were claims that Real Madrid might attempt to disrupt Arsenal’s plans, it seems the Gunners have successfully secured the midfielder.
In December, when discussing his future, Zubimendi reflected on his choice to decline Liverpool’s offer, expressing his openness to leaving Sociedad eventually. “I went on vacation, and it caught me by surprise,” he shared with El Diario Vasco.
“It wasn’t something I had anticipated. I responded to the situation as it unfolded. It was a challenging moment for me, but I considered the advantages and disadvantages and determined that staying was the best choice.
“I don’t subscribe to the idea of ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunities. If you are talented and aspire to achieve something, it will come your way. There’s no need to rush.
“I evaluated my personal growth, my identity, and the club’s vision.
I chose to remain because I recognized that this season would be crucial for my role in the team, and I still had progress to make.
“The decision wasn’t particularly difficult. There were numerous factors influencing my choice, but ultimately, I prioritized what was best for me – and that was to stay.”
Arsenal is actively seeking to bolster their attacking options this summer, following a setback in their Premier League title challenge due to significant injuries to key players such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz.
The club made an effort to acquire a new forward during the January transfer window but fell short. Manager Mikel Arteta expressed his disappointment, stating, “We had a clear intention with the window open.
“For the players who can make an impact, we were unable to secure them. We are disappointed, but we understand that we only want to target specific types of players.
“Our goal is to enhance the squad if we have the means to do so. We will concentrate on the areas we need to continue improving.”
