Mikel Arteta has successfully responded to the striker concerns at Arsenal as the January transfer window looms.
Ahead of the January transfer window, Mikel Arteta has found an optimal way to tackle the striker situation at Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta receives ideal update regarding Arsenal’s striker dilemma as the January transfer window approaches.
Arsenal’s striker situation has received a significant boost ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Kai Havertz showcased his versatility once again while playing for Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany, contributing to a resounding 7-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Although typically positioned as a centre-forward for Arsenal, he took on a different role, playing behind Borussia Monchengladbach’s Tim Kleindienst, who netted two goals during the match.
Havertz scored the third goal of the evening, executing a well-coordinated play with Florian Wirtz that resembled an archetypal Arsenal goal, characterized by fluid passing and movement leading to a composed finish.
Additionally, he assisted Wirtz for Germany’s fourth goal, delivering a low cross that Wirtz deftly flicked over to Leroy Sane, who then produced a remarkable touch before scoring what could be considered the goal of the night, although Wirtz’s free-kick was also noteworthy.
Despite being Arsenal’s top scorer this season, Havertz has faced criticism as the team struggles to replicate last season’s attacking prowess, currently trailing nine points behind league leaders Liverpool.
This has prompted discussions about the necessity for the club to pursue new attacking options in the January transfer window, with names like Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres being mentioned, though a winter transfer seems improbable.
Havertz’s impressive performance for his national team will undoubtedly signal to Mikel Arteta his current form and readiness.
Furthermore, his adaptability in midfield could create opportunities for him to collaborate with a new striker should the club decide to make a signing.
Although he has faced criticism in previous roles, his value extends far beyond just one position within the team, which is precisely why Arteta brought him on board.
“He has earned the trust and respect of everyone through his management of various situations and his performance,” Arteta remarked in August following his goal in the season opener against Nottingham Forest.
