Arsenal has reached out to a club regarding the potential acquisition of a £50 million striker, following unsuccessful negotiations for a new contract with the player.
In light of failed contract discussions, Arsenal has contacted the club to explore the possibility of signing a £50 million striker.
The Gunners are exploring options to bolster their attacking lineup as discussions for a contract extension have stalled.
As the January transfer window approaches, much of the focus has been on acquiring a winger to fill the gap left by Bukayo Saka, who is sidelined for over two months due to hamstring surgery.
Players such as Dani Olmo from Barcelona and Randal Kolo Muani from PSG have been frequently mentioned as possible replacements for Saka.
However, reputable sources indicate that Arsenal is also considering the addition of a new striker.
According to The Athletic, the club is open to signing a centre-forward during the winter transfer window, despite the challenges associated with securing a high-quality player in this notoriously difficult period.
There are reports that Arsenal is keeping an eye on Victor Osimhen’s situation, as his loan deal with Galatasaray reportedly includes a break clause that could allow interested teams to make a move mid-season.
Gabriel Jesus has recently shown impressive form, netting five goals in two matches against Crystal Palace, while Kai Havertz has demonstrated versatility in a makeshift striker role.
Nonetheless, it remains uncertain whether their current attacking options will be sustainable in the long run, and there has been ongoing speculation about Arsenal’s need for a reliable goalscorer.
In the previous summer transfer window, Arsenal made an attempt to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, but the Slovenian opted to stay in the Bundesliga for at least another season.
North London could revisit their interest in Sesko in 2025, as reports suggest he has a “gentlemen’s agreement” to depart Leipzig either next year or in 2026.
However, Sesko is not the only striker from the Bundesliga under consideration.
Arsenal has reached out to Eintracht Frankfurt regarding the potential acquisition of Omar Marmoush.
As reported by CaughtOffside, the Egyptian forward is generating significant interest from the Gunners. He is currently having an outstanding 2024/25 season, tallying 18 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.
Arsenal’s proactive approach puts them ahead of other Premier League clubs in the pursuit of Marmoush, particularly as they aim to capitalize on his uncertain contract situation.
The 25-year-old is reportedly unhappy with the recent negotiations for a new contract, which has raised the interest of several clubs, including Arsenal, who may seek to take advantage of the situation.
While it remains uncertain if a transfer could occur in January, Marmoush’s estimated market value is around £50 million.
