Liverpool’s injury updates ahead of the match against Crystal Palace include key information regarding Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott.

As Liverpool prepares to face Crystal Palace, the latest injury news highlights that a decision regarding Federico Chiesa is forthcoming.

Arne Slot faces at least one selection dilemma as he prepares his Liverpool squad for the Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace.

The match is set for Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff and serves as the Reds’ final game before the international break.

Liverpool enters this fixture following a 2-0 victory over Bologna in the Champions League midweek and a 2-1 win against Wolves in the Premier League last weekend.

Under Slot’s management, the team has achieved eight wins in nine matches and aims to secure a sixth consecutive victory across all competitions against Palace.

Injuries have posed challenges for Slot this season, and the situation remains critical ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park.

Federico Chiesa is still uncertain for the match after missing the win over Bologna and has only featured three times for Liverpool since his £12.5 million transfer from Juventus.

Chiesa did not participate in training leading up to the Palace match, but Slot mentioned that there is a possibility he could return for Friday’s session.

Nevertheless, the Liverpool manager stressed that final decisions regarding the matchday squad would depend on Chiesa’s ability to train.

“We’ll have to wait and see,” Slot informed the media on Friday regarding Chiesa’s status. “He hasn’t trained in recent days, but he came in today to assess if he could participate in training.

“If he is able to train, I will still need to make a decision since we can only name 20 players, and he hasn’t been on the pitch for a few days. But first, we need to determine if he can even train.”

Meanwhile, Harvey Elliott continues to be unavailable for Liverpool due to a fractured foot sustained during the September international break.

The 21-year-old is not anticipated to return until after the upcoming international fixtures later this month.
