Liverpool urged to sign ‘exceptional’ ex-Man City player as a potential replacement for Salah…

Liverpool have been advised to consider signing a former Manchester City player as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The club is currently facing uncertainty regarding the future of several key players, with Salah being one of them.

The 31-year-old forward’s contract is set to expire in 2025, and there are no guarantees that he will be offered a new deal. This situation presents an opportunity for Liverpool to make a decision on Salah’s future and potentially cash in on him.

Liverpool is gearing up for a major revamp in the upcoming season as uncertainty looms over the future of several key players.

The most crucial decision lies with Mohamed Salah, the 31-year-old star forward, whose contract is set to expire in 2025.

With just a year left on his lucrative £350,000 per week deal, there is no assurance that Salah will be offered an extension. This puts Liverpool in a position where they might consider selling him now to maximize their returns.

Al-Ittihad, a team in the Saudi Pro League, had made a groundbreaking offer for Salah last summer, but Liverpool managed to rebuff their advances successfully.

Nevertheless, Salah’s performance has declined since sustaining a hamstring injury during the Africa Cup of Nations in January. This has sparked speculation that a substantial offer from the SPL could entice Liverpool to sell him.

If Salah were to depart after an impressive seven seasons, where he has consistently been the top scorer, it would be crucial to find a top-quality replacement.

The rumors linking Michael Olise to Liverpool have gained momentum after his outstanding display in Crystal Palace’s 4-0 victory over Manchester United earlier this week. The French under-21 international is expected to be highly sought after in the upcoming transfer window.

However, a former Liverpool player believes that the team should pursue a winger with more experience to adequately fill Salah’s shoes.

Leroy Sane, the Bayern Munich forward, is also set to become a free agent in 2025, making his situation similar to Salah’s.

If Bayern fails to secure a new contract with the German international, it may be time to bid farewell to the triple winner.

The 28-year-old has had a tumultuous season, finally breaking his goal drought against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg. In addition to that, he has faced several injury setbacks during Bayern’s disappointing season.

Nevertheless, he has managed to contribute 10 goals and 13 assists in all competitions for the Bavarians this season.

PENNANT URGES LIVERPOOL TO PURSUE ‘UNREAL’ SANE

Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant believes that the club should focus on signing the former Manchester City winger, considering his impressive performance in the Champions League against Arsenal, instead of pursuing Olise in case they lose Salah.

According to DAZN, Pennant expressed his doubts about Olise being the ideal replacement for Mo Salah.

In Pennant’s opinion, a player with more experience like Leroy Sane would be a better choice. Pennant believes that Sane’s speed and ability to cut in on either side make him a great signing.

He recalls Sane’s exceptional performance at the Emirates, where he completely dominated Arsenal. Pennant concludes that if Sane can replicate that level of performance against Arsenal, he would be an incredible addition to the team.

Despite acknowledging Olise’s talent, Pennant still favors Sane due to his familiarity with the Premier League from his time at City.
