According to insiders at Liverpool – Reporter reveals latest information on £92m pair potentially joining Anfield.

Liverpool is in the market for a new centre-back following Joel Matip’s departure earlier this week.

However, Ben Jacobs has informed GIVEMESPORT that the Reds will not be pursuing Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori or Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie this summer.

Sources have indicated that despite previous speculation, interest in the duo has been minimal.

Matip served Anfield admirably, spending eight years under Jurgen Klopp as one of his first signings.

He played a key role alongside Virgil van Dijk, contributing to the Reds’ success in winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

His departure has created a gap in defense, but the club has denied interest in Calafiori and Hincapie, despite European interest.

Liverpool has not been frequently mentioned in connection with Calafiori or Hincapie.

Calafiori is expected to leave Bologna for a new club in the summer, and after an impressive EURO 2024 campaign, several teams, including Juventus, Arsenal, and Chelsea, have shown interest in signing him.

Liverpool, having qualified for the Champions League and in need of a starting centre-back to pair with Van Dijk, could potentially join the race, but it seems that Calafiori is not on their shortlist.

Hincapie, on the other hand, was previously linked with Liverpool, but it appears that other targets such as Willian Pacho, Antonio Silva, and Goncalo Inacio have taken priority, with sources close to the club denying any interest in the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Jacobs has stated that Liverpool has “downplayed” their moves for the duo.

In an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT, Jacobs revealed that Liverpool are not currently pursuing the in-demand centre-backs, Calafiori and Hincapie, who are valued at around €55m (£46m) each according to CaughtOffside.

This news may concern Reds fans with just over a month left until the start of the Premier League season.

Jacobs stated that Liverpool sources have downplayed the links between the club and Calafiori, suggesting that they have other targets in mind.

The same applies to Piero Hincapie, as sources close to Liverpool have denied any interest in pursuing him as well.

Liverpool’s primary target for a defensive signing is Leny Yoro from Lille. The 18-year-old has already gained significant experience with 60 appearances for the French club.

While the Reds are interested in securing his signature, Real Madrid is also in the running for the young talent.

If Real Madrid does not make a move for Yoro, Liverpool may have a chance to sign him, but there is a risk of disappointment if they are unable to secure his services.
