Liverpool make Arne Slot sack decision after PSG defeat, Liverpool make instant ‘sack decision’ as Salah ‘demanding head’ quotes invented…
Liverpool swiftly makes a ‘sack decision’ as fabricated quotes about Salah surface.
‘The message’: A journalist reveals insights from Liverpool sources regarding Arne Slot’s future after the defeat to PSG.
Can we really believe that Liverpool decided to dismiss Arne Slot and informed a website within just 15 minutes after the final whistle?
And those quotes supposedly from Mo Salah? That’s utterly disgraceful.
Arne Slot’s dismissal decision reached in record time.
We are all eager to attract clicks on the idea that Arne Slot could be let go at the end of the season, but only a few websites are suggesting it might occur following the loss to PSG. Only one consistently claims that a ‘decision’ was made within 15 minutes of the final whistle.
They haven’t, guys. And if they had, there’s no way they could have made that decision and communicated it to SPORTbible within 15 minutes of the final whistle. It’s not just misleading; it’s outright false.
The Liverpool board has supposedly reached a conclusion after the 2-0 defeat in the Champions League, as the sub-headline proclaims.
Yet, the very first line immediately reduces that absolute certainty to ‘Liverpool may have already decided on Arne Slot’s future as manager following the 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.’
May? May? You already asserted they have ‘made a decision,’ folks. Just as they supposedly did in October and November after losses to Crystal Palace and PSV.
What becomes evident is that the article was likely written before the defeat to PSG, qualifying it as a sort of premonition about a decision.
And speaking of ‘qualifies’…
However, prior to the match at Anfield, it seems Liverpool may have already resolved to dismiss Slot, with reports suggesting that his position is increasingly precarious.
If you state that ‘it appears’ something ‘may’ have already occurred, you might as well display a large sign saying ”
They reference The Athletic but misinterpret it entirely…
According to The Athletic, the owners of Liverpool, Fenway Sports Group, are looking to provide Slot with an opportunity to rectify what has been a disappointing season, during which the club has suffered 17 losses, the highest since the 2014/15 season.
However, the report indicates that for Slot to retain his role, it’s now a matter of Champions League qualification or nothing, leaving the Dutch manager with merely 90 minutes to secure his position next week.
The Athletic does not state this at all, as it is clearly absurd; there is no way Slot’s job depends on winning the Champions League. While it is indeed ‘Champions League or bust’ regarding trophies, what The Athletic actually conveys is this:
FSG aims to allow the Dutchman the opportunity to correct the course next season, but that role will become untenable if the season completely collapses in the upcoming weeks.
It’s almost as if you cannot dismiss a manager for losing to the current Champions League holders, but you certainly could dismiss a manager for leading Liverpool from Premier League champions to a position outside the top five. This scenario appears quite plausible when examining the fixtures.
Has Arne Slot been dismissed yet?
Now turning to the Daily Star for ‘Liverpool news: Latest on Arne Slot’s potential dismissal as Jurgen Klopp shares his thoughts on an emotional reunion.
You might be surprised to find out that the latest on ‘Arne Slot’s potential dismissal’ is that he has NOT been dismissed yet. More updates will follow.
However, we begrudgingly appreciate the effort to include Jurgen Klopp’s ‘emotional reunion’ in that headline. His ‘thoughts’ on returning to Anfield for a charity legends match? Well, he found it enjoyable.
Liverpool content holds greater significance
Mediawatch is clearly venting frustration, but the leading story on The Sun football site on Thursday morning is this:
Moment Mo Salah ‘restrains himself’ in an awkward encounter with TNT Sports following the most severe Arne Slot snub yet at PSG.
The quotes? From a user on X with 226 followers. In fact, his actual tweet was only viewed 45 times.
What on earth is this content?
Salah calls for Slot(t)’s head
We conclude with Goal, which really should not have permitted this to be published, not only due to the significant spelling mistake:
“I was prepared to call for Slott’s head,” Salah remarked, restraining his criticism following Liverpool’s unfortunate evening.
Clearly, Salah did not say anything of the kind; in reality, he remained completely silent (he ‘revealed his true colours’, as stated by the Daily Star).
So, where did that quote originate? Well, from The Sun, of course. They are citing someone on X who claimed that ‘he’s a true professional; I would have demanded Slott’s head’.
And now, through The Sun and an Egyptian journalist writing for Goal, these provocative quotes have been misattributed to Salah himself.
