Liverpool is ready to sanction a transfer as Slot loses ‘loses patience’, with Isak among four alternative candidates under consideration…

Liverpool is reportedly prepared to offload Darwin Nunez, who has struggled to make an impact since his £64 million transfer from Benfica.
The club has identified four potential replacements for the Uruguayan striker as manager Arne Slot appears to be losing patience with him.
Nunez, one of Jurgen Klopp’s last significant acquisitions, was brought in despite concerns highlighted by data analysis.
However, his performance has been inconsistent, often resulting in missed opportunities in front of goal, leading to disappointment among fans and management alike.
Slot, who is still working with a squad largely assembled by Klopp, has only added Federico Chiesa to the team ahead of the 2024/25 season.
With three key players nearing the end of their contracts and Slot expressing frustration with some forwards, significant changes are anticipated in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Reports suggest that Liverpool is ready to facilitate Nunez’s departure, with interest in several forwards, including Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, as potential replacements.
Other names being considered are Ollie Watkins, Marcus Thuram, and Mohamed Amoura, indicating a strategic shift in the club’s attacking options.
Wolves’ standout player Matheus Cunha, who has a ‘new release clause’ in his contract, is another viable option, and Slot has previously commended the Brazilian international ahead of Liverpool’s match against him this weekend.
“He embodies the type of player I refer to when I compare leagues where I have worked with this one,” Slot remarked.
“I’m not entirely sure of Wolves’ current standing… 17th, but if you look at the 17th team in the Dutch league, there isn’t a player who could compete for Ajax, PSV, or Feyenoord.
However, Matheus Cunha is a talented player with the ability to perform for one of the top five teams in England.
“This is one reason why securing a victory against a 17th-placed team in England is significantly more challenging than doing so in Holland.
We witnessed this during our previous encounter with Gary O’Neil, where they delivered an impressive performance, particularly Cunha, so we anticipate another tough match on Sunday.”
