Liverpool fans have expressed their feelings on the Martin Zubimendi transfer after ‘regretting’ his action, as the Spanish is now willing to join in January…
Liverpool supporters have expressed their views regarding Martin Zubimendi’s potential transfer after reports of his regret.
According to sources in Spain, Zubimendi is feeling remorseful about his choice to decline a move to Liverpool in favor of staying with Real Sociedad.
However, the reaction from Reds fans has been largely unsympathetic.
Fans have been vocal about Zubimendi’s reported second thoughts following his decision to reject a transfer to Anfield during the summer window.
Liverpool had identified the Spanish international as their primary midfield target and were optimistic about finalizing a deal in August. Ultimately, the 25-year-old opted to remain in San Sebastian.
Recent reports from Estadio Deportivo indicate that Zubimendi has reached out to Liverpool, expressing a desire for the club to pursue him again in the upcoming January transfer window.
His change of heart appears to be linked to Real Sociedad’s poor start to the season, as they currently sit in 16th place in La Liga, having secured only one victory in their first six matches.
This news has sparked a strong response from many Liverpool fans. One supporter commented, “If we sign Zubimendi, it’s likely he’ll become homesick and want to return to Sociedad within a few seasons.
He had his opportunity this summer and missed it. I only want players who are eager to join us.”
One individual remarked, “With Endo and Gravenberch available to play as a defensive midfielder, we really don’t require Zubimendi. He has made his decision, and it should be respected.”
Nonetheless, many supporters view the matter differently and would still be pleased to see Zubimendi join Anfield.
One fan commented, “I don’t understand why some believe Zubimendi wouldn’t enhance our squad. If we have the opportunity to sign him in January, we should pursue it.
It’s not easy to leave everything behind and start anew.” Another supporter stated, “We may find it amusing now, but I would still consider it, provided it happens swiftly and there are no further delays from him or his representatives.”
