Liverpool continues to express interest in signing a player of great quality.
Liverpool is maintaining its interest in signing a player recognized for their great quality.
According to a recent report, Liverpool is still keen on securing the services of Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The heart of the Reds’ defense is seen as an area that requires strengthening, especially with Joel Matip leaving Anfield after eight years.
While Liverpool coped well without Matip for most of last season due to injury, their choices at centre-back are currently limited and not without flaws.
Virgil van Dijk remains a top-notch option, but the inconsistency of Ibrahima Konate and the inexperience of Jarell Quansah are causes for concern.
Arne Slot may consider utilizing Joe Gomez in a central position, depending on his assessment of the player, but regardless, the addition of another player is essential for the team.
Recent information from Tutto Juve [via Sport Witness] indicates that Bremer remains a target for Liverpool as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League season, having been linked with a transfer to Anfield this summer.
One report suggests that Slot has a personal interest in acquiring the Brazilian, viewing him as a key asset to strengthen the defense.
However, Juventus is resistant to parting with such a significant player, making it challenging for Liverpool to secure his services.
To entice the Serie A club, an offer of at least €70m (£59m) is thought to be necessary, and it is yet to be determined if Liverpool is prepared to meet that price.
Slot’s interest in having Bremer join his defensive unit is understandable, given the 27-year-old’s impressive track record as a standout player at a top European club.
Last season, the Brazilian international, who has been capped five times, maintained an average of four clearances and 2.8 aerial duel wins per game in Serie A, across 36 appearances.
Former national team coach Tite once praised his abilities by stating:
The asking price from Juventus may be high, but if Slot, Michael Edwards, and Richard Hughes believe in his value, their judgment should be respected.
