‘Leeds will be saying…’ – Glenn Hoddle makes significant claims regarding Leeds United’s relegation following the draw with Brentford.

Leeds United faced Brentford at Elland Road, resulting in a 0-0 draw, which added another point to their quest for survival in the Premier League.

While this was not the desired outcome at home, it extends their winless streak in the league to six matches. Nevertheless, they succeeded in avoiding defeat and secured a point.

Their margin over the teams below them could shrink based on other match results, and by the conclusion of the gameweek, Leeds might find themselves under increased pressure in the relegation fight.

At this point in the season, their struggle to secure wins is becoming increasingly alarming. However, Glenn Hoddle has offered an optimistic perspective on the draw against Brentford.

Glenn Hoddle believes Leeds will reflect positively on the result.

The former England manager acknowledged that Leeds will be monitoring West Ham’s performance against Aston Villa today.

He emphasized that if West Ham were to lose, Leeds would view the point gained against Brentford as a favorable outcome, particularly given their lackluster performance.

Hoddle suggested that the battle for survival will be grueling, and Leeds will ultimately regard the draw against Brentford as a beneficial result as the season progresses.

Hoddle commented on Premier League Productions: “They’re keeping an eye on West Ham’s situation; they currently have 29 points, and they’ll think, ‘we’ve gained even when we didn’t perform well.’

“It was a tough match, but we’ve secured another point. Now, West Ham has to perform tomorrow, as they are playing away at Villa.

“They’re in a mini-league with Tottenham, Forest, and West Ham, and they will be competing fiercely in that group. So if West Ham loses, they’ll think, ‘that’s a valuable point we earned against Brentford today.’

“When you’re at the bottom, that’s your perspective; it’s called survival for a reason. This could be a significant point for them, as they are aware of their poor performance and lack of goals. However, if they can manage to secure points here and there, they will have a chance to survive.”

Leeds’ lack of wins in six matches poses a challenge.

Daniel Farke has suggested that Leeds might require approximately seven points from their last seven matches to remain in the Premier League.

On paper, a draw against Brentford is not a negative result, especially since they are striving for a European spot and are difficult to defeat. Nevertheless, Leeds would have preferred to secure all three points at home to ease some of the pressure.

In other news, Nottingham Forest will face Tottenham later today, while West Ham will take on an Aston Villa team that is currently lacking confidence.

Leeds holds a four-point advantage over the relegation zone, but that buffer could diminish to just one point by the end of the gameweek if the results do not favor them.

This situation would place the Whites under significant pressure following the international break, with a victory becoming increasingly urgent to calm nerves at Elland Road.

Their next match presents a tough test against a confident Manchester United team, which has only lost once since Michael Carrick assumed control in January.
