Leeds United set to bring back loan star ahead of Manchester United clash…

Leeds United is poised to reintroduce a loan star ahead of their match against Manchester United.

Last weekend, Leeds United played over 120 minutes to secure their spot at Wembley, where they will compete against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final later this month.

The quarterfinal at the London stadium proved to be not only physically demanding for the players but also costly, as Leeds lost Anton Stach early in the match. The midfielder sustained an injury and had to be substituted before halftime. Additionally, Joe Rodon exited the game just seven minutes into the second half, making way for Sebastiaan Bornauw. While the Whites successfully reached Wembley, these injuries could have repercussions for their season.

Daniel Farke suggests a potential return for a Leeds star to the squad.

In a press conference on Thursday, Daniel Farke confirmed that both Stach and Rodon would be unavailable for Monday’s match against Manchester United. The Leeds manager strongly indicated that both players might only be ready to return next month. There are also concerns regarding Noah Okafor and Dan James for the Monday night fixture, which could pave the way for another Leeds star’s comeback.

Farke mentioned to the media that Facundo Buonanotte might receive a call-up to the first team, having shown impressive form in training over the past few weeks. He also noted that competition in the attacking line will be intense due to the injuries.

“I have been very pleased with what he’s accomplished in the last two to three weeks. I’ve spoken with him and indicated that we appreciate the consistency he has shown in training.

“He was quite close to being included in the matchday squad [against West Ham], even with many players available. Now, with a few injuries, there may be an opportunity for him.

“However, the key is to maintain consistent performance in training, not just have one good session. You need to do this over several weeks to regain the spotlight. This means that when I select him, I will have to leave another player out of the attack.

This may be Buonanotte’s final opportunity

It would be quite unjust to claim that a player who has only made three appearances since January will be evaluated based on his next match, yet that is the reality for Buonanotte.

He arrived with high expectations but has not yet met them. The midfielder appeared sluggish and out of condition during his initial outings, which may explain why Daniel Farke chose to bench him.

These injuries present the Argentine with a chance to return to the starting lineup, and he must seize this opportunity wholeheartedly. This is not just for his own benefit, but also for his future – if he performs well enough, it could persuade Leeds United to secure him on a permanent basis.
