Liverpool is currently in negotiations to finalize a deal for a player valued at £58 million.

Discussions are underway as Liverpool seeks to secure an agreement for a player priced at £58 million.

Real Madrid risks failing to defend their Champions League and La Liga titles if they do not enhance their squad in January.

Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool has been a long-term target for the Spanish club.

With Carvajal sidelined due to injury, Los Blancos suffered a league defeat at home to their rivals, Barcelona, and were subsequently outplayed by AC Milan, who triumphed 3-1 at the Bernabeu last week in the Champions League.

This has created a crisis for Madrid, who urgently need to bolster their right-back position during the winter transfer window.

Earlier this month, AS reported that Trent is the top candidate to replace Carvajal, with the Spanish giants aiming to secure the £58 million-rated Liverpool defender on a free transfer next summer.

Additionally, prominent transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has indicated that it will be nearly impossible for Ancelotti’s team to acquire the England international during the current season, as Liverpool is in discussions with him regarding a contract extension.

Romano stated on his YouTube channel:

“Liverpool is very pleased with Trent as part of the squad. They are actively negotiating a new deal with him and are determined to keep him at the club.”

Despite being a defender, he leads the Premier League in assists; however, under Arne Slot this season, he has only managed two assists in fourteen appearances.

The Dutch manager has primarily emphasized the vice-captain’s defensive contributions, resulting in significant improvements and helping the team achieve at least eight clean sheets.

Trent is set to play against Villa tonight, and fans are hopeful he will soon sign a new deal with Liverpool.
