Injury news for Liverpool vs Aston Villa ahead of the Premier League match against Aston Villa

Arne Slot has shared an injury update for Liverpool ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League match against Aston Villa at Anfield.

The Reds approach this match following four consecutive league defeats and six losses in their last seven matches across all competitions.

Consequently, Slot is facing pressure despite having led Liverpool to the Premier League title last season. They currently trail leaders Arsenal by seven points.

Ryan Gravenberch has been sidelined for Liverpool’s last three matches due to an ankle injury.

Following the 3-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup against Crystal Palace, a match in which Slot made extensive changes, the Reds manager was optimistic about Gravenberch’s return.

Alexander Isak, who was acquired for a British record fee of £125 million, has been out for the last two matches due to a groin injury.

Additionally, Curtis Jones had to leave the game against Brentford and was also missing in the match against Palace.

During his pre-match press conference, Slot indicated that Gravenberch is expected to return, but Isak and Jones are very unlikely to play.

The Liverpool head coach stated: “Ryan trained yesterday, the other two didn’t yet. As I have mentioned several times, the final phase of an injury can either slow down or speed up.

We will have to wait and see. Ryan trained yesterday and today and will make the decision. The other two are probably 99.9% certain not to be in the squad.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker, ranked No.1, is still sidelined due to a hamstring injury, and Jeremie Frimpong is expected to be out for the next month with a similar condition.

Young players Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic cannot join the squad due to their own hamstring injuries, while Giovanni Leone will not return this season after suffering an ACL rupture.
