“I’m hearing” – Fabrizio Romano reveals that Liverpool is looking to bring in a “world-class” star for Arne Slot…
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool is reportedly interested in acquiring a “world-class” star for Arne Slot.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool are interested in signing a “world-class” player for Arne Slot, with Willian Pacho being one of the players they are considering for the upcoming transfer window.
Romano also mentions that there have been no formal negotiations yet for the Colombian player. If Liverpool decide to pursue Pacho, they may face competition from Arsenal. The Reds are keeping a close eye on Eintracht Frankfurt’s central defender Willian Pacho as they plan for the summer transfer window, according to Romano.
If Liverpool decides to pursue a move for Pacho, they may face competition from Arsenal. This development comes as Jurgen Klopp’s potential replacement, Arne Slot, prepares for a crucial summer in order to maintain the success that Liverpool has achieved under Klopp’s management.
With Joel Matip expected to leave the club at the end of the season, strengthening the defense has become a priority for the Reds. Matip has been sidelined for most of the current season due to an ACL injury he suffered in December’s 4-3 victory against Fulham.
Liverpool’s interest in centre-backs has been widely reported in recent weeks, and along with Frankfurt’s Pacho, they have been linked with several other players. One of the rumored targets is Chelsea’s Levi Colwill, who has been on Liverpool’s radar since last summer. Another name that has been mentioned is Sporting CP’s Goncalo Inacio, who is also believed to be a potential signing for Liverpool.
However, there is also interest in Pacho, who has been performing impressively for Frankfurt. The 22-year-old Ecuador international has been a consistent presence in the Bundesliga, missing only one game this season. Frankfurt currently sits sixth in the league standings with one game remaining.
According to reports, Liverpool has been monitoring Pacho closely, with the club appreciating his world-class defending skills, as described by Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmoller. However, it is important to note that there has been no formal approach or negotiations between the two clubs at this stage. Liverpool’s interest in Pacho is based on their admiration for the style of play exhibited by Toppmoller’s team.
Currently, there are reports suggesting that Pacho is being closely monitored by certain parties. Specifically, there is a keen interest in Eintracht Frankfurt and their style of play, leading to the belief that they have identified talented players within the team.
Liverpool has been actively scouting and tracking Pacho’s progress, although no formal negotiations have taken place between the clubs or with the player himself. It is important to note that it is still early in the process.
Pacho’s professional career began in Ecuador before he made the move to Europe in January 2022, signing with Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League. Last summer, he took another step forward by joining Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, where he is currently contracted until 2028.
In the upcoming transfer window, Liverpool may face competition from Arsenal if they decide to pursue Pacho. Throughout the league season, these two Premier League rivals have been battling it out at the top of the table. However, it is Arsenal who have managed to keep up with Manchester City in the latter stages of the campaign.
Despite already possessing one of the strongest defences in the league, Mikel Arteta might consider bolstering his defensive ranks by acquiring Pacho.
According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, both Liverpool and Arsenal have shown interest in the defender. It is estimated that the transfer fees for Pacho would amount to around €50-60m.
