‘If they continue to lose…’ – Jamie O’Hara expresses doubts about Arne Slot’s position as Liverpool’s form is deemed a ‘joke’.

Arne Slot is widely believed to be under no real threat of losing his position at Liverpool, despite a dismal streak of results. However, one pundit suggests that the Dutch manager could realistically be dismissed within the next two months.

The loss to Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday marked the Reds’ sixth defeat in their last seven matches, and the upcoming schedule remains challenging with encounters against a revitalized Aston Villa, Real Madrid, and Manchester City in their next three fixtures.

Fabrizio Romano has recently reported that the 47-year-old still enjoys the full support of the Anfield management, although discussions regarding a new contract have seemingly been paused due to the Premier League champions’ alarming decline in form.

O’Hara warns that Slot could face dismissal by Christmas

Jamie O’Hara posits that if Liverpool continues to slide down the standings over the next two weeks, Slot could find himself in significant jeopardy of being sacked.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder stated on Sky Sports News: “He has a crucial week ahead. They’re up against Aston Villa, followed by Real Madrid and Manchester City. These are major matches on the horizon.

“They’ve lost six out of seven, which might seem amusing, but it’s quite absurd. This is Liverpool Football Club, and they are expected to compete at the highest level. If he loses another three matches, who’s to say he’ll make it to Christmas?

“Honestly, Liverpool must win the league. That’s their responsibility.”

Liverpool’s performance has been poor, yet claims regarding Slot’s potential dismissal are absurd.

In this impulsive age of modern football, managers often face termination on a whim – consider the swift changes at Nottingham Forest this autumn, just months after they qualified for Europe and nearly reached the Champions League.
