“I want to remain here” – Liverpool star clarifies his future with straightforward remarks.

This season has been quite eventful for Liverpool thus far.

The reigning Premier League champions appeared to be strong contenders for the title, and they began their season in that manner.

With five victories in their first five matches and a record of scoring late goals, it demonstrated their unyielding mentality this season under Arne Slot’s guidance.

The fact that the Reds achieved this without their costly new signings performing at their best indicates that there is more to come.

However, they have suffered defeats in all four Premier League matches since then, trailing Arsenal by seven points in the title race.

Federico Chiesa has been a standout player this season.

One of the pivotal players has been Italian winger Federico Chiesa, who consistently makes an impact after coming off the bench.

Slot has yet to provide him with sufficient starting opportunities, but Chiesa continues to push for more.

The former Juventus winger addressed his future ahead of the Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

He stated, as reported by Liverpool.com:

“Currently, I’m satisfied with my contributions.

“I’m not pleased with the team’s situation since we’re not winning, but personally, I believe I’m contributing significantly to the team and the fans, and I want to continue doing that to achieve victories in the future.

“That’s the primary reason for my efforts. Naturally, I wish to remain here and win for Liverpool once more.

“I aim to perform well. That’s my top priority; then it’s up to the coach to decide if I start or not.

However, if I keep playing well, I will certainly get more playing time. The coach recognizes that. He has shown it to me because my performance has improved.

“Last year, I wasn’t fit enough. I wasn’t mentally prepared, and I didn’t play. I accepted that completely because I wasn’t at the same level as the other players.

This year, I noticed that from the moment we began, I felt an improvement both physically and mentally. I have been playing more, and I still need to increase my playtime to achieve the desired level. I was very active when I won the Euros in 2021.

“I consider myself a different player now, but I appreciate the direction I’m heading in and the improvements I’ve made in various areas of my game, even though I have lost a bit of speed.”
