Gyokeres conveys a message to the Arsenal star, detailing the explanation for his actions of revenge.

Viktor Gyokeres reacts to Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes seemingly imitating his celebration as a form of retaliation.

Arsenal secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Portuguese powerhouse Sporting CP, marking a disappointing evening for Gyokeres and his teammates, who were competing in their first European match since the exit of former manager Ruben Amorim to Manchester United.

The Swedish forward, who has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal following an impressive tenure in Lisbon, has netted an extraordinary 67 goals in 69 appearances.

This season, only Robert Lewandowski (7) has scored more Champions League goals than Gyokeres, who has five, yet he was unable to make an impact against the Gunners.

The situation escalated when Gabriel appeared to replicate Gyokeres’ signature celebration after scoring Arsenal’s third goal with a header from a Declan Rice corner just before halftime.

The Brazilian defender, who later left the match due to injury, celebrated by running to the corner flag and performing a gesture that Gyokeres typically uses after scoring.

In response to the celebration, Gyokeres remarked to ViaPlay, “He’s welcome to steal it if he can’t create his own celebration! I didn’t know he did that, but it’s fun he likes my celebration.”

However, reports from The Metro suggest that Gabriel’s actions may have been a form of payback.

This stems from an incident in 2023 when Sporting midfielder Pedro Goncalves mimicked former Arsenal player Granit Xhaka’s celebration after eliminating the Gunners from the Europa League, which may have prompted Gabriel’s response.
