Free agent now makes a come-and-get-me appeal amid links to Leeds United.

Leeds has some funds available for the winter transfer window, although not a substantial amount.

Adam Williams recently reported to Leeds United News that there is a budget set for January – despite Robbie Evans asserting that the club has already reached its limit concerning PSR.

Nevertheless, this does not imply that Leeds can spend recklessly; they still need to seek out good deals.

Currently, one free agent available is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

TBR Football suggests that Leeds is aware of his circumstances, and the England international has provided an update regarding his future.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is eager to find a new club amidst links to Leeds United.

The 32-year-old has been without a team since mutually terminating his contract with Besiktas in August, but he is now eager to return to the field.

In a recent interview with The Athletic, Oxlade-Chamberlain stated: “I want to play. I’m not ready to call it quits by any means. I don’t feel old. I’ve still got that hunger to play and do well. I just want the opportunity to show what I can still do.

“I believe I can contribute positively on the pitch and also demonstrate the right approach to training, as well as the proper conduct on and off the field. I’m now in a position where I’ve been fortunate enough to play for top clubs, win trophies, and work with esteemed managers. I have gained much more knowledge now than when I first began.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who wishes to remain in England, has made 235 Premier League appearances during his time at Arsenal and Liverpool, winning the title in the 2019/20 season with the latter.

In this regard, the Portsmouth-born player can undoubtedly provide value to Daniel Farke, at least in a supportive role if not immediately on the pitch.

Leeds United should contemplate extending a pay-as-you-play contract to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is respected by James Milner, earned £53,160 per week during his two-year stint in Turkey, as reported by Capology.

Offering such a substantial salary to the Southampton academy graduate right away would be quite significant for Leeds, particularly if he proves to be unfit to assist Farke from the start.

Consequently, if Leeds decide to proceed with this agreement, we think that only a pay-as-you-play contract should be considered.

This type of arrangement would protect Leeds in the event that Oxlade-Chamberlain experiences an injury, which is probable considering his past fitness challenges, while also providing the midfielder with an incentive to perform well for Farke.
