Liverpool receives a significant boost regarding Alexander Isak during Tuesday’s training session in preparation for the PSG match.

Alexander Isak seems poised to make his long-awaited return to the field for Liverpool, having been out for nearly four months due to a broken leg.

The Reds’ record signing sustained a severe injury during the 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur just before Christmas, resulting in him missing a considerable portion of his inaugural season at Anfield, which had already been marked by a disrupted start to his time on Merseyside prior to this major injury.

The FA Cup loss to Manchester City last weekend was too soon for him to be included in the matchday squad, but it increasingly appears that he could be part of the traveling team for the encounter against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

Isak practices with the Liverpool squad ahead of the PSG match.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Isak participated in training with the Liverpool squad on Tuesday afternoon as they continue to prepare for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, indicating that he might be heading to Paris later today.

There were no surprising absences during the session at the AXA Training Centre, as Alisson Becker, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley, and Giovanni Leoni were already ruled out due to their respective injuries.

Isak is expected to be gradually reintegrated into the team, but his return will be a welcome addition.

Isak has faced significant misfortune with injuries since joining Liverpool seven months ago, and his return to play will be a positive development for the Reds, even if it is likely to be a gradual process rather than an immediate return to full action.

It is probable that, even if the 26-year-old is deemed fit to play against PSG, he will start on the bench with Hugo Ekitike taking the center-forward position, but having him available for 15-20 minutes could still provide a substantial advantage for Arne Slot.

The French player has performed exceptionally well during his inaugural season at Anfield; however, the pressure of shouldering the responsibility in the absence of the former Newcastle striker appears to have affected him recently, as LFC’s number 22 has netted only twice in his last 11 matches.

Isak will understandably need some time to regain his full form, but if he manages to score even a few goals in the closing weeks of the season, his input could potentially sway the outcome in favor of Liverpool securing a spot in the Champions League rather than falling short.
